Best thing I’ve read on the net recently!

I was recently told of an African tribe that does the most beautiful thing.

Sit with me St.Valentine ?

If you could sit with me a while,

what would you feel free to say

this day,(Grammys?Movies?uh,

c’mon, after all that is over, there would be this silence

like when Kanu killed a squirrel and didn’t know

whom to tell)…

what would we say,

knowing we might never meet again, or have

this chance to say what we are given to,

then……

pic courtesy :National Geographic photographer thank you!

speak, and I will too, for time never returns, and what is

said in truth, however deep the place, is what lasts

a life, or

more;

if I could speak back, I would too, but am afraid to be the first,

so I will wait.

I will wait.

Not just on Valentine’s, Saint

Valentine.

The Gift of a Scar

images (16)If there is a proven fact in my life it is this :

oh there is such a thing as ” Scar fulfillment ” !

Strong when we are weak,

most honest @ rock-bottom

beautiful in the face of ugly

healed  : post – war

laughed best after tears

emerged fearless after surviving threat

asked for nothing when I’ve lost everything

craved blessing

when cursed.

What is this strange phenomenon ?

It defeats my most aggressive foe

my vilest thought,  the most crushing adversity

that I am Free when holding nothing

Baffles me every time, but there  it is.

The most liberating Truth

It is ( for me ) so utterly

Liberating to know I walk alone ….  (cont below…)

“It is  liberating to know

that  I walk alone

among a krzillion invisible chariots of fire ;

but the most liberating of all,

is the knowledge of how little

I know, as compared to what I will

know

tomorrow.”

Impossible Minds

The Persistence of Memory is one of the most f...

Image via Wikipedia

Daniel  Siga was a philosopher even when we were kids in college : right brained and left,  a visual Poet and practical to the last pin, so unlike me writing  drama and poetry about fish and trees, even politics in my own strange ways!

One sun lit noon after the last Lecture Dan who was a friend of my best friend Lini, told me, he and I could never see eye to eye on most things.

For instance,  I felt dogs were most like humans, and had ESP which they used  and we did not. Dan said dogs were good and so were Rhesus monkeys, like the rest of us, just that dogs barked so much. And bit. And that if humans could care for one another as much as people who reared dogs, there’d be food for every child, and shelter enough ; if dogs were that spectacular they ought to be sent to college or at least used for war and other relative trades. Or Space..

which led to a brawl, and me saying few  irreverent things  with regard to  his kind of Poetry, which I will not get into here, just because I cannot remember  space durations between his words.   He used to write on walls and people’s palms. Staccato words which made sense later. Much later.

I did not think  Poetry needed to be useful ; he obviously did. I quoted Salvador Dali : “Have no fear of Perfection, you’ll never reach it !”

Dan  replied, “It is not the language of painters but the language of nature which one should listen to, the feeling for the things themselves, for reality, is more important than the feeling for pictures,” Vincent Van Gogh .

What kind of Footprints was  I leaving ?   Yes, he would ask you a thing like that, even if you’d just arrived off  a Tsunami.

Time,”  said Dan, ”  a persons ‘ time’ and the expenditure of it, were directly related to a person’s health. His life.  It had to make sense. Even Abstracts. One might miss a point, but there it was. A persons work was their foot print. Where they’d been, or were. What they were standing in, or on…”

Hmmm.  Mr Surreal, Dan Siga and Van Gogh. Then there was me. And somehow lovely Lini with the pondering curls.  Unlikely partners / impossible minds, can eventually make good sense . Maybe not.

Somethings must take their course. I appreciate that now. Decisions. The majority Vote. Impossible situations and people. Imagine us all seeing eye to eye on everything ? A planet full of humans the same height ? Oh help.

P.S.

So just say a given number of people agreed on “x”. Right there, we’re sharing the same persona  precisely the kind of conclusion Daniel Siga would wince at. Never mind. Imagine Rooms filled with predictable minds ….
